The International Honors Program

Many undergraduates come to the University of Alabama with a dream of what their undergraduate career will be like:  I’ll become best friends with my freshman roommate, UA will win a national football championship, I’ll earn a high GPA, and I’ll graduate with an exciting job offer or graduate school offer in hand! 

For many undergraduates, their dreams of the college years also include a study-abroad experience.  For them—and for you—the International Honors Program is in the business of dream fulfillment. 

The International Honors Program welcomes students who want to add an international dimension to their chosen major, be it Business, Interior Design, Chemical and Biological Engineering, Political Science, Dance, or a foreign language.  We prepare you for your study abroad experience with our seminar, Culture and the Human Experience, and we help you identify the perfect study-abroad opportunity for your goals. 

IHP students have studied abroad all over the world—Spain, Argentina, Russia, China, England, Costa Rica, France, Germany, and dozens of other countries.    When they return, they’re excited about learning, they can’t wait to share the experience with others, and they’re eager to gain even more international experience.
