The International Honors Program is directed by Dr. Fran Oneal, who also serves as Manager of the University Honors Program. Dr. Oneal is a political scientist specializing in International Political Economy.

Dr. Oneal writes:

"I went off to college as an undergraduate in 1979…and I've never left the college environment. The most enriching experiences I've had, however, have come during my travels to over 20 nations. As a student, I grew by leaps and bounds as I studied and traveled. History, art, politics, religion all came alive for me as I experienced ancient sites and new places. As a professor, I have seen students experience the same personal and intellectual growth through overseas study.

When a student joins the International Honors Program, he or she is making a declaration of intent to become a global citizen. Our job in the IHP is to do everything in our power to help students achieve that goal through international study."
